AMBUSH WORKSHOP

Deep In Tokyo's Harajuku, Find The Jewellery Brand's Flagship Store Designed by Wonderwall

September, 2016
AMBUSH® WORKSHOP

Nestled down an unassuming side street in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, find Japanese brand AMBUSH‘s first stand-alone store. Opened in September 2016, the minimalist space was designed by Masamichi Katayama of WONDERWALL who created an interior with various volumes flexible enough to adjust to the “ever-evolving creativity” of the brand’s founders Yoon Ahn and Verbal. Showcasing clothing and jewellery, the minimalist space features a floating steel counter that presents jewellery pieces in a glass-encased view, whilst LED recessed lighting and large full-length mirrors elongate and expand the entire store interior. In one corner, find a John Chamberlain-inspired site-specific crumpled metal artwork, and nearby, transparent acrylic shelving that displays the brands limited collection and collaborative items.
