KOFFEE MAMEYA OMOTESANDO

Championing the Fine Art of Coffee from Tokyo

Photography - Benjamin Hosking

May, 2017

Hidden in the backstreets between Harajuku and Omotesando lies Koffee Mameya, the reincarnation of owner Eichii Kunimoto and its previous predecessor sibling Omotesando Koffee. Found in the same location, the new box-like design champions the contemporary contrast of concrete and wood, again helmed by design studio 14SD and head designer Yosuke Hayashi.

Here, there is a new approach to bean selection; offering coffee beans from around the world and presenting each roast from light to dark, with the various shades of each bag determining the roast. A new membership program offers records of taste preferences, with free public workshops after 6pm on weekdays.

A refreshingly transparent space for all things coffee and the sharing of global knowledge around it.
