Taylor McFerrin first piqued our ears way back in 2006 when his soul-drenched single “Broken Vibes” made its way onto dancefloors and into the record boxes of tastemakers like Gilles Peterson. In 2015 he resurfaced with his debut album “Early Riser” on the revered Brainfeeder label after several years of working, touring, refining and editing in is his Brooklyn-based studio. The multi-talented McFerrin’s collaborative partners include label-mate Thundercat, jazz pianist Robert Glasper, Nai Pai (Haitus Kaiyote) and even his pops, Bobby McFerrin.
