One of Warsaw’s best new hotels has emerged from a design studio; Mamastudio, who helmed the ambitious project to provide an authentic experience to Warsaw’s emerging creative scene as a leading design destination. Autor Rooms is certainly the city’s best boutique design hotel, located in the heart of Warsaw. Independently and passionately operated, it will no doubt be one of your best introductions to the city: “We want our guests to explore Warsaw beyond the usual, uninspired tourist routes to show them the real McCoy.”

Mamastudio worked with local architect Mateusz Baumiller to combine a series of residential spaces together to turn into 4 bedroom boutique guest rooms. Each space feels intimate and homely; with an emphasis on featuring contemporary furniture and modern artworks made locally by Polish designers. “Autor Rooms is meant to attract people looking for beauty, for unpretentious atmosphere and for an opportunity to connect with people with similar interests.”

Inside each room, commissioned pieces and custom-designed furniture and fittings were created by designers and studios including TYLKOBeza Projekt, Maria Jeglińska, Paged Meble, Purpura, Porcelana Kristoff, BISK, Comforty, Segiet Oniszh and Ultralight.

Each guest room is brightly lit, with natural light beaming through the large, glass windows that feature a small balcony. Although minimally-toned, the colour palette is bright and juxtaposed colours of navy and yellow, to red and mint green transforming spaces. Although the rooms are consistent in design, some feature differences including copper bars and glass as room dividers, while others hold wooden partitioning.
