Cantabrian Maritime Museum Restaurant

Original Brutalist Arched Paraboloids Are Central To This Restaurant Designed by Zooco Estudio

Within the Cantabrian Maritime Museum Restaurant, find a new restaurant designed by Zooco Estudio set within the museum’s brutalist concrete building’s arched paraboloids that were uncovered during the site renovation. Zooco Estudio added oak wood for the interior seating and slatted timber ceiling panels which conceal the heaters, air conditioner and lighting so as not to disturb the visual minimalism of the space. The architects created the contemporary renovation intending to retain the buildings charm as a vestige of the past, adding four additional concrete arches to complete the symmetry of the space.
