OGR
Torino's Newest Art Space Housed In A Post-Industrial Complex Championing Performance Art
Housed in a late 19th century industrial complex, OGR opened after 5 years of renovations, converting its 35,000 square metres into a diverse destination for cultural exchange.
OGR, the Officine Grandi Riparazioni, provides a space for experimentation and spontaneity, awareness and collaboration. Only opened just under a year ago on September 2017, the art space presents conceptual performances to a new audience in Torino better versed in fine art due to Italy’s rich history in the field. Since its opening, OGR has presented site-specific works by Liam Gillick, Arturo Herrera and solo shows by artists such as Tiny Sehgal, Mike Nelson and Susan Hiller, whilst musicians Kamasi Washington, New Order and The Chemical Brothers have all also performed in the space.
Alongside the galleries, OGR is home to a fine dining restaurant, cafe and bookstore which guests can enjoy throughout the day. An adjoining building to OGR acts as an ‘innovation hub’ for start-up tech companies, bringing a new energy to the formerly dormant area.
