BAR 83

Retro Nostalgia at Sydney's Highest Bar

83 floors above street level in the iconic Sydney Tower, find Bar 83 and its 260-degree breathtaking views of Sydney.

Nostalgic retro furniture consistently adorns the entirety of the 83rd floor, unexpected, yet strangely fitting. Red, white and gold interiors are a constant, a contrast to the diverse demographic of visitors and their personal style to the bar. From birthdays to dates, meetings or catch-ups, its easy to see every visitor at Bar 83 is there for a different occasion. Open from 2pm, both tourists and locals alike fill the floor, and by 4pm almost all seats are full (pre-booking is highly advised). Staff are attentive and friendly, in the particularly accommodating Australian way, right from ‘check-in’ (security check) on the ground floor to the warm welcome 83 floors up.

The best way to experience Bar 83 is with a cocktail, beer or wine at a two-seater by the window facing East (by the time the bar opens the sun has just passed and isn’t too bright). There is a contemporary bar food menu from Bar 83’s sister venue Infinity, featuring share plates (oysters, lobster roll) and Australian classics (with native ingredients also making a cameo), but we specifically enjoyed the wide selection of bottled beer and refreshing drinks on offer.

Classic cocktails, local wines or crisp bottled beers are the order of the day, making Bar 83 a convenient afternoon and pre-dinner destination not to miss whilst visiting one of Australia’s most vibrant cities.
