MATT, Lisbon, Portugal | Photo Hufton + Crow

Recently opened, the new MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) has been designed by British architecture firm AL_A (Amanda Levete & Architects) created with 15,000 glazed tiles, also allowing visitors to walk over the pedestrian roof that overlooks a stellar view of Lisbon and the Tagus.

The tiles were created by Ceramica Cumella in Barcelona, renowned for their ceramics which have been a part of some of the most significant architecture projects worldwide. As a new cultural space in the heart of Lisbon, MATT exhibits both local and international contemporary exhibitions, including creative public workshops, and encourages exploration, critical thinking and an international dialogue between contemporary artists, architects and thinkers.

Exhibiting travelling exhibitions and from the collection, including The World of Charles and Ray Eames, to LiquidSkin with work by Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Joaquim Sapinho.
