In the heart of Tokyo’s Shibuya, find ALL DAY PLACE Shibuya, a new hotel addition to the city’s bustling and art-driven cityscape.

With a ground floor area that doubles as a hub for both travellers and locals alike with a cafe and bar [About Life Coffee Brewers and Mikkeller Kiosk/Bar] find the hotel reception and lobby in the building’s second floor alongside its restaurant GOOD CHEESE GOOD PIZZA, where large, glass windows allow a flood of natural light and view onto the neighbouring Mitake Park.

Designed by Tokyo-based design studio DDAA led by Daisuke Motogi, the playful and creative interior was based on the studio’s iconic DIY approach to design. With re-contextualised gold-coated scaffolding as wall detailing and rushing belt as table legs, the playfulness in design comes from Motogi’s own genius in reinterpreting materials and their common functions. A key visual feature at the hotel is the square tiling in a stunning gradient of various greens, connecting the outdoor seating area and ground facilities through to internal stairs leading to the restaurant and reception.

Guest rooms are equally minimalist and efficient, with sizes ranging from 12sqm to 57.5sqm for the Party Suite. The hotel’s dedication to sustainability is clear: find organic bamboo toothbrushes and paper toothpaste “tabs” by MiYO Organic, amenities in biodegradable plastic bottles and room sandals made from recycled tires by indosole. The coasters that bathroom cups rest on, are also in fact, made out of recycled clothing. Meanwhile inside rooms, find complimentary tea by local producer YOU IN and hasami-yaki cups by Maruhiro.

Breakfast at on-site restaurant GOOD CHEESE GOOD PIZZA designed by Masaki Kato of Puddle Inc., includes favourites as avocado on toast to sumptuous french toast and berries. For lunch, their specialty of pizzas is not to miss, utilising fresh burrata pasteurised daily in-house from fresh milk supplied by Kiyose Milk Farm in Tokyo’s north.

Just as its name suggests, All Day Place Shibuya’s integrated spaces allow it to be enjoyed throughout the day with stellar food, beer and coffee.
